Menopause
Menopause occurs in women in general around the age of fifty years, sometimes earlier. This is an important physiological change in the form of stopping the secretion of ovarian hormones including estrogen, leading to the cessation of menstruation and atrophy of the uterus. Menopause can also occur following treatment with chemotherapy, radiotherapy or surgery.
These hormonal changes may cause many inconveniences such as dry mucous membranes, decreased libido, urinary incontinence, hot flashes, and weight gain. They can also cause the onset of cardiovascular disorders and anxiety-depression.
Plants rich in phytoestrogens reduce these unpleasant symptoms.
Caution: Women having gynecological cancer must not take phytoestrogens without medical advice.
