Alopecia is defined by the total or partial hair loss either temporary or permanent. The average renewal time for the hair is four months. Its speed depends on the functions of the pilosebaceous follicles. Among the many causes of dysfunction of the latter there are hereditary factors, dermatological diseases (psoriasis, eczema, ...), hormonal disorders (hypothyroidism, menopause, reduced androgens), mood disorders (depression, grief ), eating disorders, deficiencies (iron, biotin, vitamins of group B), infectious or parasitic diseases (syphilis, scabies, ...), taking certain medications (chemotherapy, psychotropic, diuretics, hormones ...).
